Chester Dee Herrell is the son of Ida Maybell Cassingham and Rue Herrell. Swede, as he was known, was born 16 May 1909. He died 11 Apr 1984 at age 74 in Pine Bluff, Jefferson, Arkansas and is buried at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.

On 8 Aug 1931, he married Verabel Cain in Sharpsville, Tipton, Indiana. She is the daughter of William Cain and Addie Hostetler. She was born 13 or 30 Jun 1914 in Santa Fe, Miami, Indiana. She died 6 May 1998 at age 83 in Peru, Miami, Indiana and is buried at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.

  1. William Rue Herrell was born 1932 in Indiana.
  2. Penelope Jane Herrell was born in 1940 in Indiana.
  3. Addie Mae Herrell was born in 1942 in Indiana.
