William Burdette Cassingham was born about 1822 in Ohio. He is the son of Thomas Cassingham (Sr.) and Phoebe Ford. He died in 1892 at the age of about 70 in Council Grove, Morris, Kansas.

On 15 Jun 1851, he married Elizabeth Cummings in Grundy County, Illinois. She was born about 1834 in Quebec, Ontario, Canada and is the daughter of Ebenezer Cummings and Jane Harris. Elizabeth died 17 Dec 1872 at the age of about 38 in Council Grove, Morris, Kansas.

1. Mary Frances Cassingham was born 10 Sep 1852 in Elgin, Kane, Illinois. On 25 Nov 1874, she married (1) Edward Dunn in Geneva, Kane, Illinois. About 1890, she married (2) John W. Boughton (also known as Frank Radford). John/Frank was born in Jul 1856 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died 14 Dec 1936 at the age of 80 in Miami, Dade, Florida. Mary died 12 Dec 1931 at the age of 79 in Atlantic Highlands, Monmouth, New Jersey and was buried 15 Dec 1931 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York.
2. William Jay Cassingham was born 12 Dec 1853 in Elgin, Kane, Illinois.
3. James Austin Cassingham was born 29 Oct 1855 in Elgin, Kane, Illinois. He died 9 Feb 1929 in Redondo Beach, Los Angeles, California and was buried 11 Feb 1929 at Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Los Angeles, California.
4. Ida Edith Cassingham was born 7 May 1857 in Elgin, Kane, Illinois.
5. Jehiel Cassingham was born about 1862 in Elgin, Kane, Illinois. Hylie, as he was known, died that same year of diphtheria.
6. Frank Cassingham was born 1863 in Elgin, Kane, Illinois. He died in 1864 of diphtheria.
