James Fowler Carlock is the son of William Hamilton Carlock and Edith Gertrude Spear. He was born 13 Nov 1912 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California. He died 8 Dec 1972 at age 60 in Hemet, Riverside, California and was buried in Ferron, Emery, Utah.

• He married (1) Alice Irene Jensen. She is the daughter of Julius March Jensen and Irene Foote. She later married Silas Vail Howell and had seven children with him.
• William also married five other times one of whom was Gay Lynn (unknown).
