Edna Williams BLANDINSVILLE -- Edna May Williams, 91, formerly of Macomb and Blandinsville, died at 9:35 p.m. Monday, Dec 2, 1996, at Montebello Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton. Born Jan. 15, 1905, near LaHarpe to George and Mary Stone Cassingham, she married James Connelly on May 7, 1932. She later married Bill Williams on Sept. 12, 1946, in Blandinsville. He died Jan. 14, 1951. She also was preceded in death by two sons, George and John Connelly, one brother and three sisters. Surviving are five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilda Larson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She attended Western Normal and then taught school for 25 years. She taught in McDonough County, 10 years in LaHarpe and four years in Ferris. She lived in Chicago, Colusa and Blandinsville before moving to Macomb in 1983. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blandinsville. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville. The Rev. Dean Reeverts will officiate. Cremation has been accorded, and private burial of ashes will be in Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville at a later date. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Blandinsville or to First Baptist Church in Macomb. |
