On 27 Dec 1898, he married his step-sister, Mary Estelle Stone, in La Harpe, Hancock, Illinois. She is the daughter of Elizabeth Emma Bozarth and John Wesley Stone. She was born 21 Oct 1872 in La Harpe, Hancock, Illinois and died 23 Jul 1954 at age 81 in Blandinsville, McDonough, Illinois. She was buried at La Harpe Cemetery, La Harpe, Hancock, Illinois.
