Ethel May Ward is the daughter of Nettie Elizabeth Cassingham and John Guinn Ward. She was born 13 Aug 1890 in Keytesville, Chariton, Missouri. She died 9 Sep 1972 at the age of 82 in Moberly, Randolph, Missouri and was buried there, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 11 Sep 1972.

On 7 Aug 1912, she married Paul Hendrix Carter in Keytesville, Chariton, Missouri. He is the son of Monroe Carter and Augusta Renfro. He was born 6 Oct 1889 in Hardin, Ray, Missouri. He died 1 Jun 1963 at age 73 in Brookfield, Linn, Missouri.
