On 25 Nov 1917, he married Belle Law in Keokuk, Lee, Iowa. She is the daughter of Frank Law and Clarissa Ford. She was born 20 Aug 1890 in Muscatine County, Iowa and died 13 Jul 1962 at age 72 in Macomb, Hancock, Illinois. She was buried 16 Jul 1962 at La Harpe Cemetery, La Harpe, Hancock, Illinois. Belle was a school teacher and a life-long Methodist.
