Paul David Basquez (Sr.) is the son of Edna Earl Essick and Arthur David Basquez. He was born 20/30 Jun 1936 in Kern County, California and died 21 Mar 1962 at the age of 26 in a U. S. Navy plane crash in Oregon.

He married Betty Evans. After Paul's death, Betty married Steve Miller.

Paul (Sr.): Paul's aunt, Ida, tells us: Paul was always ready to try anything. In his teens he trained and then traveled with a carnival in a sway pole act, very dangerous. He taught himself to ski (with homemade skis). He had a great personality, always cheerful - he enjoyed life, as short as it was. He was only 26 when he was killed in a Navy plane crash in Oregon, his wife Betty was 4 months pregnant with their son, Paul, Jr. (known as David - after being adopted by his stepfather, Steve Miller).
