[From the Coshocton Daily Times, Coshocton, Ohio, 22 Jun
1909, page 5] JOS. WILLIAMS TO BE LAID TO REST AT OAK RIDGE The news of the death of Joseph Williams which was briefly mentioned in Monday's Times brought sorrow to a wide circle of family friends in spite of the fact that the blow was neither sudden nor unexpected. Mr. Williams was stricken with pneumonia just four weeks before he died and that disease, combined with abcesses which developed proved more than the body, worn out by a long and useful life could withstand. Mr. Williams was nearly seventy three years of age and was actively engaged in business until his fatal illness overtook him. He had lived in Coshocton county all his life and for a number of years managed a grocery at the corner of Walnut street and Cambridge road. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and a man whom to know was to respect. Mr. Wllliams' wife died some years ago the only immediate relatives surviving being one brother, William Williams of Illinois and the following children: Frank Williams of Canton, Mrs. W. G. Hughes of Columbus, Carl, David and W. H. Williams of Coshocton. Mrs. Hughes has been in Coshocton for several days and her husband and Mr. Frank Williams are expected to arrive for the funeral which will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the home of W. H. Williams on Cambridge road. The arrangements for the service have not been completed. The body will be laid to rest in Oak Ridge cemetery, the casket being borne by J. B. Manner, Charles Lamberson, Joseph Clarke, George P. Ayres, Charles Craig and James Hay. Mr. Williams' son Carl, who has been very ill for months is very low at the present time, his death being hourly feared. He has not been told of his father's passing. |
