T.J. Cassingham Dies; Services At 2 P.M. Today

Thomas James Cassingham, 74, resident of the Copan community for the past 10 years, died at 12:10 a.m., Sunday in the Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for two hours. He had been in failing health for the past several months with his condition becoming critical a short time before his death, resulting from an apparent heat attack.

Cassingham was born July 29, 1885 in Council Grove, Kan., where he received his education. He was later employed there with the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. Following his marriage on Aug. 20, 1938 in Bartlesville to Pearl Edens Davis, they made their home in Scott City, Kan. Mr. Cassingham retired in 1950, having completed over 40 years service with the railroad company. Following his retirement they moved to Copan, where they have since lived. He was a member of the First Baptist church, Copan; the I.O.O.F. Lodge, Scott City and the United Railroad Workers of America.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Cassingham, of the home in Copan; four step-sons, Richard Davis, McMinnville, Ore.; Charles E. Davis, Torrance, Calif.; Henry M. Davis, Durango, Colo., and Roy G. Davis, Hobbs, N.M.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Harold Clark, Salinas, Calif.; Mrs. Edward McClain, Palmdale, Calif., and Mrs. Crayton Dildine, of Pawhuska; one brother, William O. Cassingham, Wilmington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Nina Angel, Redondo Beach, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church, Copan. The Rev. Edward Dawson, minister, will officiate and interment will be directed by the Arnold Moore Funeral Service in the Dewey Cemetery. Friends may call for visitation at the funeral residence, until his removal to the church in Copan this morning.
