Steverson, Joe Ed, age 56, of Anadarko, Ok., passed away Tuesday, June 16, 1992 at the Anadarko Municipal Hospital, after a short illness. He was born in Anadarko and graduated from Anadarko High school in 1954. He had worked in funeral homes since the age of 16 except for a few years when he was employed by the Dept. of Public Safety. He opened the Steverson Funeral Home in Anadarko in May 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Anadarko, the IOOF Lodge No. 184, a member of the National Knife Collectors Assn., member of Ducks Unlimited, and was a former member of the 45th Division of the National Guard. He was past president of the Indian City Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Lynette, of the home; 2 sons, Larry and wife, Susan of Tuttle, and Scott and wife, Jannette of OKC; 2 daughters, Sarah and husband, Webster Kane of OKC, Jamie and husband, Tony Padgett of Anadarko; 6 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Vera Hall of OKC, Mary Merrill of Cottage Grove, Or., and Beth Talkington, Pauls Valley, Ok.; 3 brothers, Alvin E. Steverson of Corning, Ca., Arol H. Steverson of Granite, Ok. and Carl F. Steverson of Anadarko; sister-in-law, Doris Steverson of Yukon; his mother-in-law, Aurora Spalding of OKC; an aunt, Lennie McDonald of Anadarko. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Anadarko. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at the First Baptist Church, Anadarko. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home.
