1947, page 1] Retired Druggist Dies at Home Here David G. Wi1Iiains, a druggist in Coshocton for 47 years, died at 2:18 p.m. Saturday at his home, Concord pl., this city, after a four months' illness. He would have been 82, on April 4. For 44 years Mr. Wi1liams had been a partner in a drug store that was operated on the southwest corner of Main and Fifth sts. The store was known as the Siegrist and Williams firm until it was sold in 1939 to a Uhrichsville concern, which later left the room vacant. Mr. Williams first opened the store in partnership with his late brother, Carl Williams, in 1895. Two years later John Siegrist became David Williams' partner. Messrs. Williams and Siegrist were the first in Coshocton to be registered by state examinations. Mr. Williams was born April 4, 1865, in Coshocton, a son of Joseph S. and Mary Cassingham Williams. At one time he was employed with the Beach Co. and prior to entering the drug business he operated a grocery store here. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. On Nov. 11, 1886, Mr. Wil1iams was married to Emma Cox, who died Nov. 20, 1897. On Nov. 14, 1912, he was married to Hattie M. Adams, who survives. Also surviving by the first marriage are a daughter, Mrs. Louis K. Beach, and a son, Joseph Williams, both of this city; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Frank Williams, Lake Clinton, O. A son, Clark, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Glass funeral home; 710 Main st., in charge of Dr. R. M Kiskaddon of the Presbyterian church. Burial will be in South Lawn cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from7 p. m. today until time for services. |
