Arlan George Potwin is the son of Mamie Belle Cassingham and Lloyd Rogers Potwin. He was born 23 Feb 1926 in Lyons, Rice, Kansas. He died 7 Feb 1974 - just short of his 48th birthday - in Lindsborg, McPherson, Kansas and was buried at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, Rice, Kansas.

On 1 Aug 1948, he married Lois Gene Folck in Junction City, Geary, Kansas.
