On 10 Mar 1872, he married Amanda Frances Staten in Campbellsburg, Trimble, Kentucky. Amanda was born 29 Jan 1853 in Campbellsburg, Trimble, Kentucky. She is the daughter of James Madison Staten and Mary Shannon. She died 12 Dec 1921 at the age of 68 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California.
