On 12 Oct 1881, he married Rebecca Jane Gano in Hancock County, Illinois. She is the daughter of John S. Gano and Rebecca. She was born 21 Sep 1863 in Ferris, Hancock, Illinois and died 24 Sep 1937 at the age of 74 in Earlton, Neosho, Kansas.

    • After Ida’s death, John married (2) Inez Banks on 13 Dec 1916 in Iola, Allen, Kansas. Inez was born 6 Jul 1885 in Kansas. She died in Dec 1986 at the age of 101(!) in Erie, Neosho, Kansas.
  3. Lottie May Cassingham was born 23 May 1890 in Ferris, Hancock, Illinois.
  4. Lula Grace Cassingham was born 19 May 1892 in Kansas.
  5. Bertha Lois Cassingham was born 17 Oct 1895 in Kansas.
  6. Ora Gertrude Cassingham was born 3 May 1905 in Canville, Neosho, Kansas.
