David Anthony Clabaugh is the son of Nelson Seymore Clabaugh and Nancy Catherine Iseman. He was born 19 April 1876 in Kelso, Morris, Kansas. He died 10 March 1944 at age 66.

On 4 September 1898, he married Lena Mae Amrine in Alexander, Rush, Kansas. She is the daughter of Andrew E. Amrine and Kezziah Shreyer. She was born 26 February 1880 in Kansas. She died 6 August 1971 at age 81 in Costa Mesa, Orange, California.

4. Clarence Leroy Clabaugh was born 17 July 1904 in Lawton, Comanche, Oklahoma.
5. Dellmont Amrine Clabaugh was born 4 November 1919 in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota.
