Elwood Leroy Edwards is the son of Leroy Jay Edwards and Nina Estil Cassingham. Eddie, as he was known, was born 21 Jun 1910 in Lacrosse, Rush, Kansas. He died 20 Feb 1977 at age 66 in Bend, Deschutes, Oregon and was buried 24 Feb 1977 at Pacific Crest Cemetery, Redondo Beach, Los Angeles, California.

On 5 Oct 1944, he married Betty Ione Hise. She was born 3 Aug 1917 and died 26 May 1988 at age 70 in Bend, Deschutes, Oregon. Prior to her marriage to Elwood, Betty had been married to Mr. Mathiasen. They had one child, Butch Mathiasen, born in 1942. Butch married Peggy and had one child, Rusty Mathiasen, born in 1977.
