On 4 Jul 1939, he married Catherine Thomas Teresa Sullivan in Taft, Kern California. She was born 26 Aug 1918 in Taft, Kern, California. She died 30 August 1990 at age 72 in San Juan Bautista, San Benito, California.

Harry: Harry's sister, Ida, tells us: Harry joined the Marines in 1932 for one hitch. When his father quit his job with Kern County, California he replaced him as a truck driver. When a new supervisor was elected, he lost his job and moved to Salinas. He lived the rest of his life in that area, driving trucks. During WWII he went back in to the Marines for a short time but had to get a dependency discharge because he had 3 children and was expecting another one and the service had no allowances at that time for taking care of them. But he was always a Marine at heart.
