Viola May Cummings is the daughter of Gilbert H. Cummings and Charity Jane Barzee. She was born 3 Jan 1859 in what was then called Breckenridge County, Kansas. She died 5 Aug 1953 at age 94 in Multnomah County, Oregon.

In 1881, she married Charles H. Hams. He was born about 1855 in England. He died 19 Oct 1955 at about age 100 in Multnomah County, Oregon.

5. James E. Hams was born 6 Sep 1892 or about 1890 in Oregon. He married Lavelle Nor (unknown). She was born 14 Jun 1896/1897. She died 9 Aug 1975 at age 78 or 79 in Heppner, Morrow, Oregon. James died 17 Jan 1980 at age 87 in Heppner, Morrow, Oregon.
6. Hazel Hams was born about 1896 in Oregon.
7. Roy Add Hams was born 13 Dec 1901 or about 1892 in Oregon. He married Addie May (unknown). She was born 10 Jun 1903 in Oregon. She died 25 Feb 1984 at age 80 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. Roy died 30 Dec 1978 at age 77 in Washington County, Oregon.

Notes

Charles Gilbert: I am guessing that Charles' middle name is "Gilbert" (named for his maternal grandfather). The Oregon Death Index, which only tends to lists the first three letters of the middle name, shows his name as Charles Gil Hams. The middle name could be something else that begins with "Gil".

The Charles Gilbert Hams I have listed may not be the correct one. Our Charles had been reported as being born in 1888. The Social Security Death Index does list a Charles Hams (SSN 561-70-7789) born 3 Jul 1888 but who died in California in Jun 1974. Either of these may be our Charles.
