Thomas Cassingham, Jr. Obituary

Dec. 5-- On Sunday, Nov. 20, Mr. Thomas Cassingham was thrown down and had his left thigh bone broken by a horse running against a bar and striking him with it. He lived until Wed. Nov. 30. He was born in England Jan. 26, 1802, so he was 85 yrs., 10 mo., 4 days old. He came with his father’s family to this country in 1819 and settled in Ohio. He married Mary Morrison in 1830. She lives at age 83. They were the parents of 9 children, 3 of whom died in childhood. The rest, 2 sons and 4 daughters are married. They are: James, Alexander, Mrs. Anne Lincoln, Mrs. Harriet Sears, Mrs. Maria McEndree, and Mrs. Margaret Lincoln. They came to this county in 1854 and settled on the farm where he died. He was a member of the Methodist church. Burial was in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
