Grace Eileen Stryker

RIVERTON -- Grace Eileen Stryker, 86, of Riverton, died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Quaker Hill Manor in Lowell after a long illness.

She was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Nauvoo, Ill. to Louis and Ella Michael.

She graduated from high school at Braman, Okla. She had lived in Riverton for 42 years.

She married Lloyd Cassingham in 1934, at Braman. He preceded her in death in 1941. She then moved to Opolis with her son and parents. She worked at the Jones Store in Pittsburg and at the Kansas Ordinance Plant in Parsons. She married James W. Stryker on Dec. 17, 1950. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1994.

Mrs. Stryker was a member of the Church of Christ in Pittsburg and the VFW Auxiliary in Baxter Springs.

Survivors include a son, Joe Cassingham of the home; and a sister, Doris Billbe of Mesa, Ariz.

Services were Monday, July 24 at the Baxter Springs Cemetery.
