Lovina Mae (Sutton) Peterson Obituary

Mrs. Robert (Lovina M.) Peterson, 80, Morris, died Sunday Oct. 22, 2000 at the Grundy County Home.

Born Sept. 3, 1920 in Verona, she was a daughter of Lester and Laura (Ward) Sutton. She graduated from Mazon High School with the Class of 1938.

For several years she was employed with Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Morris.

On Nov. 19, 1944 she married Robert A. (Bob) Peterson in Deland, Fla. Among her hobbies were fishing, gardening and cooking.

Surviving are five daughters, Ellen (Arthur) Myre of Marseilles, Priscilla "Cib" Johnson of Champaign, Deborah Sutton of Seattle, Wash, Eileen Blackwell of Champaign, and Merilee Mowery of Mazon; one son, Roger (Rose) Peterson of Albermorle, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle (Leona) Sutton and Howard Sutton, both of Morris; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband on May 30, 1995 and a sister, Alma.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the U.C. Davis and Sons Funeral Home Ltd. with the Rev. Avery Wilson officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Preferred forms of remembrance are memorial gifts to the Grundy County Home.
