John Wilson Cassingham was born 22 Jun 1840 in Coshocton, Coshocton, Ohio. He is the son of George F. Cassingham and Elizabeth Wilson. From 1901 to 1905 he served as U. S. Congressman from Ohio's seventeenth district. He died 14 Mar 1930 at the age of 89 in Coshocton, Coshocton, Ohio. He is buried in South Lawn Cemetery, Coshocton, Coshocton, Ohio.

On 5 Nov 1863, he married Mary Caroline Lamberson in Coshocton County, Ohio. Caroline, as she was known, was born about 1841/1842 in Ohio. She is the daughter of Samuel Lamberson and Julia A. Crowley. Mary died 30 Mar 1913 at the age of about 71 in Coshocton County, Ohio.
