CASSINGHAMS in America

Phoebe Cassingham was born about 1817 in England. She is the daughter of Thomas Cassingham (Sr.) and Phoebe Ford. She died sometime before 1880.

Phoebe had one daughter:

  1. Salina J. Cassingham was born about 1840 in Ohio.

Notes

So far, we have not found any record of a marriage for Phoebe, even though her brother, Henry's, biographical sketch states that all of Henry's siblings "grew up and were married." The fact that Phoebe's daughter bears the surname of Cassingham would seem to indicate that Salina was born out of wedlock.

Sources

Phoebe: Birth from 1850 census (Jackson, Muskingum, OH. p. 325).
Death is deduced from her brother, Henry's, biographical sketch (published 1882) in which she is listed as deceased.
